Outside of NFL, the biggest plus is NOT getting American TV. Most shows on TV are utter crap. Ya you get CNN and Fox News, a few florida channels but I would much rather watch the music videos then most of what is on American TV.

I have heard that CR dishes out some pretty decent porn on certain channels after midnight, but for now that remains an urban legend to me... I am still searching to discover if true or not!

although cable TV here is nothing compared to what you get in the states. Here there's no Logo, although we do get various old seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. There is MTV and we do get Jersey Shore, but a few months late. And for instance, I still haven't seen the new Beavis and Buttheads. They do also show old seasons of Date My Mom. We do get Cheaters but it's in Spanish. No Intervention. And new shows I often don't even hear about until way after the fact, so it's a mixed bag. But, the tradeoff for being able to have Pinny, Matchy, etc etc without having to go to very inconvenient lengths is almost worth it.

No I am cool with the US embassy here, GREAT great great place to pick up career-minded gringas in the foreign service.

I will verify this is true. I'm on Amnet, and the hardcore porn comes on after midnight. It's not cinemax-style porn. You can get it over the air with just an antenna as well. It's the channel called EXTRA. Tvguide.com says that EXTRA is channel 63 on CableTica and at midnight tonight, the description is 'Cine para adultos'. Awesome channel to turn on when you come home drunk at night from a bar with a girl.
