if you're serious and you really want to quit then the best thing to do is to quit. Stop drinking and stop focusing on sports. Ignore ESPN and the scores of any games. Just focus all of your energy on being sober and free from addiction. It is not easy and you will encounter a million obstacles that will make you want to drink and gamble, but you're the only person who can control what you do with your life. Find a hobby that you enjoy and let it consume you. Just make sure it is healthy for your future. Everyone here has a problem with addiction in one form or another.
