The guy is absolutely dominating (not just beating, dominating) the best in the world at his sport, and is single handedly going to take home more gold medals then most countries will.

In a country all about rising to the top and being a winner, he is it; the winner of all winners. He is by far the biggest story of these Olympics and he is representing our country. If you have any national pride at all, you have to be behind this guy.

This stupid shit "its just swimming" can be said about any sport. "Its just basketball, its just fencing, its just baseball, its just soccer". Honestly what makes your favorite sports so special? The fact that you like them? In the grand scheme of things sports mean NOTHING. The world would go on without them just fine. We are just fans of sports and thats why we care about them.

Just because you aren't a fan of swimming doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to say who gives a shit about this guy.

The Olympics cover a wide array of sports to determine which country has the greatest athletics in the world. And we happen to have the single best athlete in these games and you are blowing him off?
