The top three teams in the nation are

1) LSU
2) Alabama
3) Arkansas

One could argue the 2011 SEC is the greatest NCAA football conference in the history of college football, and that includes the great Big 10 conference teams of the early 70's with Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State.

Mixed feelings on Arkansas- let's see how they do against LSU next week. Alabama and LSU should be in the title game.

Penn state joined the big 10 in the 90's. Lots of independent teams before then.

And not sure this is a new thing since this will be six years in a row that the sec has the champ
