trigger take a 5 pound hammer and smash your big toe. then you will know what turf toe feels like. turf toe is a sprain to the ligaments around the big toe joints. very painful to push off when running with turf toe.

Yes, it's hard to even walk. Cortisone shots don't even really help either. It's a bitch to get over.

basically all athletic movements happen on the balls of your feet and with turf toe everytime u go onto the balls of your feet, it hurts. Its the joint of the big toe, not the toe itself. And there is literally nothing u can do to rehab it, the only thing that makes it better is rest, thats why it takes people out for so long.

It ended Dieon sanders career. He could not get it fixed with two surgeries, and had retire with @ least 2 more productive seasons left in his career.

Yes. I played D-III basketball for a year and had it for the second half of the season. It's pretty serious stuff because the ONLY way to heal is to absolutely not practice/play in any way for about a month. You can of course play through it, but it makes it nearly impossible to plant and change direction with that foot. It is the main reason I decided to just play intramurals for my fraternity the next three years.

If you lose your big toe to an accident or amputation. You have to learn how to walk again. The big toe is the key to the whole foot movement.

Turf toe is agony. No joke.
Plantar fasciitis is the other foot injury that sounds like a weak sauce, but is horribly painful as well.
