Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has a significant foot injury that will force him to miss several weeks, according to coach Gary Kubiak.
Kubiak said Schaub will be in a walking boot and will spend the bye week visiting specialists in several parts of the country.
Matt Leinart will start against the Jaguars after the bye, Kubiak said.
Kubiak didn't give a time table for Schaub's return, and Kubiak wouldn't address the idea he could be done for the season with a broken foot.

Not a good Monday for QBs named Matt. Cassel (hand), Schaub (foot) and Stafford (finger) banged up, and Leinart gets an opportunity to remind everyone just how bad he is.

The injury happened late in the first half on a QB sneak. According to the local news, he is out for an unknown amount of time. The coaches are keeping it underwraps, not letting anyone know the extent of the injury. He is going to see a few specialist over the next few days then something will be said. The local sports reporter did say he saw Matt S walking around in a airboot with rollers of some sort. Basically not able to put any pressure on it at all. Just as I am writing this the local news is now reporting that Matt is out for the rest of the year as he as a injury that affects the joints in someway. The injury has been known to be career ending for some players.

From the AP wire.
Houston quarterback Matt Schaub is out indefinitely with a ''significant'' right foot injury and will miss the Texans' next game in two weeks.

Early prognosis is out 6-12 weeks with the type fracture he has, he will be seeing foot specialists this week. Small chance he is back for playoffs, but not looking good so far.
Don't worry Texans fans, Leinart to the rescue!

Atleast the Texans have this bye week so Matt Lionheart can have time to get ready. I think the Texans still win the division, but that is all.
It funny as I didn't hear about this right away and heard a neighbor talking about Lionheart on the phone when I was outside my apartment. I turn on the local news and that was breaking news top story right off the bat along with the NBA season possibly over. Now I step outside and any grown up outside is talking about it.

I honestly think this is a good chance for Leinart to rejuvenate his career. It obviously didnt work out in Arizona, but dont be surprised if he plays well.
