One HUGE difference for Alex Smith this year is that he has had time to throw. He spent his first 6 years getting hit before he planted his foot on the drop and having happy feet expecting the rush the few times he had time. The Niners spent 2 1st rounders on O Lineman year before last and its paying off.

Singletary was a Jesus loving inbred. It basically took him 20 minutes to get one football point across in the same time it takes Harbaugh to get across 30 points.

Also Jay Glazer noted that the reason Alex Smith has done so much better this year is because Harbaugh basically put him in charge of installing and teaching the offensive system to the whole offense. Empowered Alex Smith and made him 50x more confident.
