Why do people continue to risk money at bad books
New poster, long time reader. My question is, if you're in the US, why in the world would you play at a book like Sportsbook.com, etc (years of negative posts on slow payments). Only a few choices: Matchbook, Greek (Bet/Jam), 5 Dimes......other than that it is TRULY GAMBLING....that is Gambling you'll ever see your money again.

People that play at bad books are killing the industry for the rest of us with integrity. Supporting BetUS, Sportsbook.com, Bet Royal and Sportbet only hurts us in the long run. Stop being so selfish!

I can understand ppl wanting to play at sportsbook.com, back in the neteller days they were solid as a fukin rock and offered bonuses/promos that were great, hell they had like 20 "sister books" with the same exact lines and quality and you could signup at all of them for bonuses whenever you felt like it. Then.....the UIGEA bill passed and now sportsbook.com and it's sister books are crap, BUT they still look exactly the same and offer the same bonuses/promos, they just don't actually pay anymore, but an idiot that is tired of having to cap his way to success will give in to those scambooks for their bonuses and then ends up with a nice balance he can't ever get cashed out.

Lots of guys on forums have no clue what a good book is, they are more worried about getting a bet down than having their money safe.

Makes sense..thanks for the responses. You would think that with great sites like this, people wouldn't make that mistake. Back in the day I made the mistake- losing money at EZ Bets (western union to Dennis Humphrey in Santo Domingo)- got stiffed for about 2K when that company went down. Also out about 1K at ESB (English Sports Betting). The best for me back in those days was WWTS (they actually paid all the time)....what ever happened to WWTS??

I know the other 3 books you mentioned are crap, but I thought Sportbet (B rating) had a decent rep.

I thought so too. Thats why I played their because of the B rating. It was a nightmare getting paid. Lie after lie!! They lie to you when you sign up about everything from limits to payout methods to payout timeframes. They say anything to get your funds and then they turn into liars at every level. Avoid this shop unless you dont mind dealing with compulsive liars at every turn.

Even decent is not worth the risk.

They stole tons of money from people back then too.

                          Perhaps not to you.

But some of us do this to actually make money.

I think he is trying to say that why play with decent shops when there are a handful of grade A books?

                              1) Bonuses
                              2) Ease of deposit
                              3) Stupidity...... True story, this one dude in a forum deposited money in Oddsmaker and had no clue they were a D- book. He though since they sounded like Bookmaker it would be a safe book.

Because some of us are trying to make money and want/need to get the best lines possible.

Sorry to hear that. EZ Bets was the 1st offshore I played at, back in 1997. When Dennis was detained by the Policia in The Dominican Republic, tring to extort bribe money from him, they seemlessly transferred me to Margarita Island Sportsbook and they never missed a beat. Their only problem for me was they weren't online, and once I discovered online books, I stopped playing at Margarita Island. Perhaps if EZ Bets had stiffed me, it would have turned me off to ofshore betting quickly, and I would have spared my self the BetOnSpors Family stiffjob that came 9 years later.

Hey Buddy Ez Bets was the first book I ever played too. They always gave me a 10% free cash with reups no rollover, they told me that Margarita was taking over. How did you get screwed?
