Andrew Luck has potential to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history
and it will be the media's fault. I'm not saying he sucks or that he in fact will be a bust in the NFL.This is more of a critique of the sports media that has put him on such a high pedestal, which is extremely unfair to Luck. I actually believe Luck will be a solid QB in the NFL. He's accurate, he has prototypical size, he's from Stanford(meaning he's smart), and he's mobile, but I just don't see why they've made him out to be like one of the greatest QBs in college football history.

His passing skill set is on the same level as any top QB in past draft classes. The only thing that really stands out is his ability to scramble and throw on the run, but I've seen nothing where he's so much above the competition. In terms of pure passing ability, Barkley and Landry are both on his level. Now to be fair, Barkley and Landry are playing with far superior talent around them. Now because the media has made him out to be so great, if Luck doesn't become a superstar in the league and is even just an average QB, people are going to call him a bust, and that is extremely unfair to Luck.

Put Andrew Luck on a team of solid talent and skilled receivers and he will truly stand out. That being said I can see two or three other QBs who will be drafted in the mid second round or later who might do just as good in the NFL under the proper coaching.
