Thoughts on FOX UFC coverage?

Got to give them a thumbs down so far. Should have had at least one prelim fight instead of 30+ minutes of prefight fluff and commercials.

Fight may not even last that long. Lots of people watching UFC for the first time might already be turning this off.

UFC will always be second fiddle to boxing, they try and go toe to toe with boxing on a night of a pacquio fight. Bad decision. MMA is run like shit and thats why boxing is, and always will be king.

The point was not to go toe to toe with boxing, it was to lead into the boxing match. People were already going to be home/at a bar to watch the fight so while they were there why not watch the UFC fights as well.

Unfortunately it all got screwed when they decided to not show the best fight of the card and JDS took care of business like he was crumpling a soda can after drinking it

Definitely would have been a big success if they had shown the lightweight fight. Also ratings would have been higher because people flipping through channels would see the fight and become interested. The 1 minute long heavyweight fight didn't give people that opportunity.

Also I thought it was hilarious after the fight when Dana was a nervous train wreck and Brock was calm and collected. Funny how Lesnar saved Dana from making a complete fool of himself

Did Fox/UFC **** up by only showing one fight? Yes.

But you're all making it seem as if MMA has never been on primetime basic cable. It's not THAT new. If I'm a newcomer, a fairly quick KO is more likely to peak my interest over a 5 rounder where I don't know WTF I'm looking at.
