Just got a new computer where Google is driving me nuts. You can't even type in two or three letters without the search engine blocking out your typed in letters replacing it with their's assuming it knows what you are searching for.

Then it somehow localizes your searches where it zeroes in practically on your neighborhood.

      give this man a cookie!

When you use Google, like with Maps, Search or Gemini, your current location is used to give you more helpful results. For example, if you search for coffee shops, you’re likely searching for coff

Welcome to the year 2011. Ever use google before? Ever hear of an IP address before? No, you paranoid dumbass, big brother is not sitting around watching u surf porn sites all day. But the fact that the technology is in place for them to monitor u if they wanted to is hardly news.

If you're so worried about your privacy spend some dough and use a vpn.

I could care less if the govt sees my search habits.

I've worked in Digital Forensics for the last 8 years, Google isn't giving the government any information on individual searches without a subpoena. First, they would be liable if found otherwise, second, users are much more profitable to be marketed to than to be tattled on.

But the funniest thing is they pursuaded Google to redirect to their website about Internet Fraud when you try to get archived SBR forum pages. Google this: cache:http://forum.sbrforum.com/players-ta...overnment.html

but again, conspiracy theroiest are going to believe what they want no matter how much scientific evidence is in front of them, so its just best to ignore them.

you hit the little gear button in the corner of the google screen, and then you will see a choice called "search settings". you hit that and look for the choice where it doesn't assume things for you, it's called automatic google instant. you check that box.
