I guess we'll never know either way if he used the incident to "blame" for his true sexuality, or if he's telling the truth.

I've read before of people having accidents resulting in frontal lobe damage, and then their entire behavior, personality, and even sexual desires being changed by it. A calm, laid-back person becoming angry and violent, etc.

I suppose it's possible, but the story is indeed peculiar.
