A major bank will not give you a problem with the check. They might place a 5 business day hold on it, but they'll definitely accept it. Good news too is that because of this disastrous US economy, the CAD is worth 95% of the USD.

1) Take it to the bank
2) Give it to the teller

Cash it and send it to me.
If your bank gives you problems, it is because:
1) It is a shitty bank
2) You are shitty customer

According to Yahoo, they should've paid me $160 more to cover the exchange rate but added only $.01.

Why wouldn't they be accepted??
They figure out the exchange rates the same way a Canadian bank figures out the exchange rate for any other country's currency.

Does the check say CAD or USD? If the amount is USD, then there is no problem.

And actually, if it had been CAD, they wouldn't have short changed you $160, they would've been giving you an extra $160.
