With a loss given to the Padres tonight and Phillies pulling a win, there is no way the Mets drop another game to San Diego at Shea. Early game, 9:10amET San Diego time, and just a HORRIBLE BALL CLUB.

Tomorrow Mets seem like the best play as they try to keep in the race with the Phillies.

44-70 (Road: 19-36), Mets wont allow them to get their 20th road win tomorrow. They're lucky they didnt get swept. And the NYM can have explosive offense at home. Runline would probably be worth it! Feel safer laying good on the ML though.

Padres are trash this season, especially at that time.

True, although it does show that they suck outside of their yard. But thats not what excites me about the play.

Santana is still a very good pitcher but he is not the dominating guy he was even a couple years ago. It's true that SD is worse versus lefties (mainly because SD's two best hitters are lefties) but it seems like all of this juice is solely because of Johan's name, making it too high. If I was going to play this game it's -1.5 or nothing.

I was actually thinking about the under. Santana could go deep, especially with the bullpen woes, and hold SD to a single run or two. And Banks has been decent for the Padres. I'm thinking 5-2 Mets.

I'm liking the under 7.5 as well in this game.. i dont see the padres scoring anymore than 1 run against santana who i believe will go very deep into this ball game.. I think he will have his second complete game of the yr this afternoon

Keep in mind there is a decent chance that David Wright may be out of the lineup today.

Manuel wanted to give him the day off yesterday but Wright talked him out of it. Given his big fielding error and bad baserunning mistake last night, I'd be shocked if Manuel didn't give him the day off this afternoon, especially day game after night game.

Probably doesn't change much as far as handicapping the game, but still something to think about, I guess, for whatever it's worth.

Treece Wins and Losses are a really poor indicator of a pitchers performances. ERA and WHIP (even better) are better indicators.

With that said the Mets are very overrated and shouldn't be -240 against anyone.
