Keep Manning on the active roster and have him stand in the backfield with Painter, have him read the field and tell Painter what to do, then run 15 yards behind the backfield every play? It'd basically be 10 on 11, but it couldn't be much worse?

Didnt simmons suggest manning actually play though, take only shotgun snaps and if theres any chance of a rusher getting him just throw the ball away
