Anyone that has ever been around high school sports has been around the self appointed leader captain types that are the team player,one for all and all for one, military, by the book kind of guys.
I'm not saying it's all bad to have some of it on a team but too much can disease a locker room.You start hoping the team mate screws up,gets humiliated or even gets hurt.You start rooting for the other team almost when the guy is hitting or pitching or playing quarterback getting sacked.
So you have this protocol where pitchers done with in a game are supposed to stick around even though they should whirlpool their shoulder.In hockey if you were Gretzke you were supposed to at least look like you were poking your nose in a bench clearing brawl.Same for baseball where all the pitchers come running out of the bullpen to the mound when a pitcher gets charged.So you are risking skill players just so they can act like team players.
So,is Prince Fielder a supreme bully self appointed leader jerk?Or is he just doing what should be done when he manhandles someone who thinks he's an individual in a team sport?
