Not from there, but was back in that area a month or so ago, about 15 miles north. Visiting relatives. My original home was the vile streets of NYC and No Jersey, where Tough JJ rules the roost.

There was, belive it or not, a Revolutinary War skirmish in Toms River. (Or maybe it was Civil War)

Jersey has low gas prices, and a lot of good musicians - Bruce, Bon Jovi, Sinatra, the guy they made the "Jersey Boy" show about - who was he? Avalon? - the Jonas Bros, tho I don't listen to that kind of music.

But otherwise the state sucks. Long ago they sold ownership of the beachfront, so except for Atlantic City you gotta pay to get on the frikkin beach!! Like around $7.00 a day. And the lifeguards take a powder at 5PM.

In Calif, and I think Florida and Texas and all other ocean-touchiing states, the beaches are free, paid for out of taxes. And in Calif the lifeguard stay on until dark, still people and surfers in the water.

Btw, Toms River is, I have been told, in the shadow of the oldest nuclear plant in the nation. My sister tells me lot of people want to shut it down, but the plant just goes on and on.

Until, I guess, folks from tht part of the jersey shore start to glow in the dark.

i remember my dad mentioning it(Toms River) when i was a kid, we used to go to seaside heights to the beach all the time as a kid, i'll have to ask him about Toms river, i know he said him and some buddies swam across the Delaware River as teenagers.
i got family in Trenton, and my dad was born outside Camden.

Delaware River, LK, is on other side of state,it separates NJ and Pennsy. Near Trenton and Camden tho.

But I understand no one goes into Camden without a tank.

Unless living has become a burden to you, or you want the family to collect on your life insurance in these economically stringent times.

I'd walk around Watt or even East Oakland before Camden.
