18, looks like most of us were planning on being degenerates and were prepared for it once we hit 18

The 1979 World Series was the first time I remember betting $100 on one play, so I was already into my 20s.

Just because someone gambles, that does not make him a degenerate. That word is thrown around so much here.

Depending on how gambling is done in different personal scenarios is what labels someone.

I'll agree, but you have to admit when most people began gambling they bet too much on too many games and chased

Yes. And I admit I did that at first. All those things are like buying an education. It's if someone learns from their mistakes and improves their approach is what keeps them off the "loser" team in this risky game.

When someone invests in stocks, in most cases he/she is looked up to by society, but when someone takes a chance investing in a sports game, he is looked at as a degenerate. Yes, one is more riskier, and not as economy related. But in the end it is just another chance to earn money.

                          And its very entertaining.

I was 17. June 16, 1995. Rangers to beat the Jays with (a horrible) Danny Darwin pitching for the Jays in Toronto. I think the odds were around even, had ~$200-250 on it.

Rangers beat em by 4. Thats how gambliong is. Its like tradition for most players to win their 1st game.

I was 22, and it was parlay on Oregon State ML and the OVER in their Las Vegas bowl win over New Mexico in 2003. Winning that bet was the best thing that happened to me that year, and launched my love of wagering.

$250 on a SFran Giants game in 2002 at the Mirage. It cashed.

                                                That was a cool feeling.
