My wife was checking our mail Monday, and found an advertisement from a law office. It was talking about how they would like to help us out with our outstanding warrant. I told my wife it was just a sucker advertisement, and to throw it away because we had no warrants on us. My wife went ahead and called the number, and actually found out that there was a warrant about to be served on us for a hospital bill that I missed when paying a ton of other ones.
The thing that disturbs me is that this "out of nowhere" law firm knew I was going to get served about a week before I did. I took care of the bill, but I asked the lady how this guy could get that info before I was legally served. She told me those guys go up to the courthouse all the time to get lists, so they can try and drum up business. I would think that there is some type of privacy issue that would be involved at least before the warrant was issued.
