Smashed My iPad2....Made It +EV!!
I dropped my Ipad2 off the kitchen counter last week, straight onto a travertine stone floor. Landed right on the top left corner, and smashed the living fukk out of the screen! Needless to say, I was super pissed!!
My wife made an appointment at the Apple store at North Park Mall for last Sat. They said it would be $379 since it would need to be replaced. Fukk me.
So I take it in, and the place is a total fukkin madhouse. I told the sales guy my 4 year old daughter (whom I brought with me for full effect) had accidentally dropped it. Gave him the whole sob story. Meanwhile, my kid is going half-apeshit....all while carrying around a giant fukkin' drink and chocolate-covered hands from the Great American Cookie Co., with all these people and expensive electronics everywhere! Total fukkin' disaster waiting to happen!!!
Guy comes back out, and just gives me a brand new iPad.....for free! He even loaded it up with IOS5 (or whatever the fukk its called), which apparently mine didn't have.
I truly believe a big part of this was simply wanting to get my kid out of there before she caused some serious damage. I actually encouraged her to play with some of the 27" tower/monitors with this exact scenario in mind!
So you see, men.....you can make most any negative situation into a +EV event with just a little planning.
