There's like 80+ books in Vegas. Even the most downtrodden casinos have em.Comment -

look at what often happens with disputes with euro books. there was one here with betfair recently, their response "too bad".Comment -

#10LOL haha that's great. Nearly every major casino has a book. I'd say there are somewhere near 100 regulated sports books in the Las Vegas area.Comment -

#15The chances of this happening are very slim. I don't know if you are familiar with who runs the sportsbetting operations that operate in the US now, but I assure you it is not the Boy Scouts. Their 'lobbying' power alone will nix nationwide sportsbetting for years to come.
Not to mention the NFL, MLB, NCAA, NBA and NHL are opposed to it. Little do they know that they would be more legitimate if they allowed sportsbetting, plus they could tax it, and incidents like Tim Donaghy would not happen because the sportsbook would be wise to it and report betting irregularities to the leagues.
Keep dreaming boys, and keep filling out those green western union/** forms -- you will be doing it for years to come.Comment -

the morality police aren't really to blame for online gambling being illegal, although they will be happy to claim it as a victory. bottom line is the government isn't getting it's cut.
so i say a big fuk u to the government, regulation and freedom just don't mix.

#19john kyle started this crap, and jackass bill frist finished it.warner of virginia told them to take it out of the military deal, and they did,so bill attached it on the port bill.i think that is how it went down.the dems had to sighn it,if they didnt, they would have been called unpatriot.you are right about it becoming legal if the government could tax it.gambling is looked dowm on as a sin,and to me it is no different than trading on the stock market.thats the reason why i brought up the holy rollers. i wish we were like england.Comment -

#20The casino lobbies here in Vegas are actually accepting of legalized internet gaming. The major casinos already have software written to accomodate such a move and they assume that, once legalized, they will have the marketing capabilities and name recognition to dominate the markets on the net as well. They are, for the most part, not opposed to legalizing it. It will only increase their revenue.Comment
