    Now that's a road trip
I'm really looking forward to August 21st. That's when Minnesota goes out on a 15 day/14 game road trip. It also means I will be fading them all the way to the bank.

I was assuming to begin with this long trip had something to do with the GOP convention, but then it dawned on me the elephants probably weren't going to hold it at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome...and they aren't, it's at the Xcel Center in St. Paul. The Twins actually come back to town just when all of the right wing hypocrites are leaving.

And naturally, this had me thinking back to the mother of all road trips the Astros were forced to take in 1992 when the GOP held their convention at the venerable old Astrodome. Houston took off in late July and returned four weeks later...26 games in 28 days with stops in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, St. Louis and Philadelphia. The Astros went 12-14 on that trip, and I can't help but think this year's Twins teams is better than that '92 Houston squad.

That has to be the longest road trip in sports history Willie. Any clue on the second longest? I thought Minnesota's was bad, but 26 games in 28 days.

            Interesting, thanks for posting.

I'd look at unders in the Oakland series.

The Angels will probably be big faves every game, but we'll see.

            Seattle takes 2 of 3, I predict.

Minnesota may collect themselves and do well in the Toronto series though, we'll see what the lines are.
