No way! He said 57 instead of 47? Holy crap! I suppose you've been over-tired, speaking in front of a crowd and cameras for 300 straight days, and never had a single brain fart...

I don't like Obama either, but I also agree that this was a pretty easy mistake to make when you have the schedule of the assumed presidential nominee for the Democratic Party in the United States of America.
As others have previously mentioned when referring to the video he meant to say 47, not 57. As there was 1 left to visit, not including Hawaii and Alaska.
However, it does go a long way in shutting up these Starbucks humping yuppie liberal pansies whom quip about every mistake Republicans happen to slip. Yeah, you're human. 57 states, nice one.
If I were to start a thread like this, I'd go with this video. Why shouldn't we vote for Obama? He plans to disarm America into a third rate military force. Great strategy guy, I hope you realize that other countries will be congratulating themselves behind our backs as they build up their defenses.

Yeah ok. I'm sure Obama doesn't know how many states are in the U.S. He had a slip of the mouth. It happens to everyone from time to time. No other candidate has done anything similar to this. How many times has Bush done it? Should we put all of those up? I'm sure we could find something similarly dumbfounded from McCain on his campaign trails too. Not that they should matter to any sensible voter. These candidates are hitting the pavement non-stop and are tired. Slips of the tongue happen. Big deal.

Or we could just go with this to seal the deal.
You can't trust this guy.
Do I trust McCain?
No.
He's a flip flopper. Dude will practically say anything to give his crowds a boner.
But if you're picking the best from the worst there is no argument. McCain 2008.

The text of the conversation suggests he meant to say 47...nonetheless he can wear this pin to the debates.

You may fail to realize that our military is what supplies most countries with their defenses. We spend 8 times what China does in national defense each year and spend 46% of the world total. The U.S. and its allies (England, France, Japan, etc.) spend 2/3 of the world total expenditures. We'll hardly be third rate with a few cuts.

lol you included? I know i have a high IQ.. I just think people are naive.. how many terms does it take before people realize candidates say things people like to HEAR... wasnt it just the democrats in congress that voted to take a 5 week vacation despite the gas crisis... what a joke... go for the more practical candidate.. not some inexperienced joke...

Uh huh, and when Dan Quayle spells "potato" as "potatoe," it makes National news for a week (it's a pretty easy mistake to make as you do add the "e" when you pluralize it).
Face it, if Bush had said this, the Obamatards would be pleasuring themselves to the video of a Bush gaffe, claiming it's the best sex they ever had.

Personal attacks, durito? First, you come in insulting everyone's ID and now, critize where they live. Not a great selling point for the liberal side.

Bottomline is both these guys suck. Either way, we are in trouble. Tired of both parties trying to sell me on their strengths, when their weaknesses are so much more glaring and abundant.

Anyone who thinks Alabama is just scum of the earth is really ignorant... Until you've been to Alabama, don't make fun of it.. I have been all over, 28 different states to be exact, and i wouldn't rather live anywhere else than right here in Mobile, AL (Also named to Forbes as the #1 fastest growing economy in the nation)... Nice place..

JRS if you like to gamble online you better hope that McCain doesn't win.
Guys, people make mistakes. Of course Obama knows how many states there are and of course McCain meant to say the Afghan/Pakistan border. Same thing with Bush, Letterman has made his last 8 year career on calling out Bush's speech mistakes. All the while Bush probably has a larger IQ than Letterman.

The Iraq/Pakistan border is the hardest to defend against the war on terrorism. You need each country to annex the country to its east and west respectively to have any chances of success.
McCane will do it.

I guess these guys don't gamble at all. Just post here to socialize. Since McCain wants to outlaw gambling, not just online, but in Nevada also. He basically wants to run the country like the Taliban.

We all know that would never happen.. Congress would never pass a law to outlaw gambling... And i think this comes down to an issue of national security... i would rather have a safe nation to live in than gamble every once and awhile...

Since 1979, when the federal courts ruled that tribal-sponsored gaming activities were exempt from state regulatory law, the Indian gaming industry has grown tremendously, with more than two hundred tribes operating gaming establishments.
(Seminole Tribe of Florida v. Butterworth, 658 F. 2d 310 [5th Cir. 1981]; Oneida Tribe of Indians v. Wisconsin, 518 F. Supp. 712 [W.D. Wis. 1981]);California v. Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, 480 U.S. 202, 107 S. Ct. 1083, 94 L. Ed. 2d 244 (1987)
McCane can't ban gambling. He has no juristinction over Native American tribes.

You mean like when they passed 'UIGEA of 2006' which was the reason Pinnacle & Neteller pulled out of the US.... and the reason books are having processing problems?
And it had NOTHING to do with national security. It was attached to the Port Security bill even though it had NOTHING to do with national security, just so Frist and his cronies can get it passed without a debate.
