His backup Connor Shaw is as bad as he is. Where does SC recruit their QBs from the school for the blind?
I now see how Stephen Garcia kept his job

#9In a year or so if Shaw is charged with point shaving it would make perfect sense. Some of the plays I saw him make I would've actually paid money to be able to ask him wtf he was thinking. I think it was against Navy he was on about the 20 of Navy and he threw it "away" straight up into the air into the center of the field (resulted of course in an INT), I remember watchin that play and tryin to understand why anyone would do that, I still havent figured it outComment -

#12He was bad because he just didn't do the right things, things like running with the ball and fumbling when he shouldn't have.
Like past top SEC teams, the QB just has to manage the game and not force things because of the great defense and running game.Comment -

#16Against Alabama last year with momentum on scaroina's side, Garcia took a bad snap from center on the sc side of the field. The ball went past him about 10 yards to about the sc 10-15 yard line. Instead of falling on the ball and and keeping possession, Garcia picks it up and throws it 20 yards through the end zone. Instead of 3rd and long, it is now 2 points to Alabama and loss of possession. Spurrier should have smelled his breath, drug tested him, and called the federales.
Love that safety with 2 or 4 seconds left against Miss St. Classic...thought I lost til Shaw ran out of the endzone.Comment -

#17The miss st safety was the right play in that circumstance. I say that both as a south Carolina backer for that game and as a south Carolina fan.
Garcia had a mountain of talent but he had a knack for doing the dumbest shlt in key situations. He was awesome for three quarters vs auburn last year and went toe to toe vs cam. He was amazing against Alabama last year too. Unfortunately those games were few and far between.
Shaw is fairly athletic and can run but as a passing qb he's fukking terrible. Alshon Jeffrey is as useless ason a bull as long as shaw is qb'ing.

#18Mountain of talent huh? Yea lets see how many NFL teams are drafting that mountain
Have fun pickin beans in Mexico Garcia, I do miss your speechless plays though, betting against SC and watching Spurrier pull his hair out on every pass play was alot of funComment -

#19South Carolina was lucky to be playing two teams with little (Miss. State) or no (Tennessee) offense. They barely won both games. This week, they go to Arkansas. It will be a totally different story. 14 points is not going to cut it in Fayetteville.Comment -

#20Absolutely, I mean they played a Miss St team which sucks and lucky to win 14-12 on a TD with 30 secs left and a Tennessee team with only 2 good players on offense (Bray QB and Hunter WR) both of whom are out for the season
The fact SC is still rated #13 is a complete joke considering their QB sucks and is not allowed to pass and their superstar Lattimore is out for the season but it will be corrected by Arkansas next weekComment -

#27Hey pal, they have played the absolute shit of the SEC, Miss St, Tennessee with their only 2 good offensive players out, Kentucky. The only half decent SEC team they've played is Georgia and they gave up 42 to them, of course their defense is gonna be top rated bc other teams have played great offenses while SC has played nobody.
Play a ranked team and then brag about their great defense, also they now have one of the worst offenses in the country, lets see if they can hold a team with an actual offense to under 14Comment -

#32Who gives a shit if they have the #5 defense if they cant score? When they hold Arkansas to 24 and Arkansas holds them to 10 are you gonna brag that they held them to 24?
Oh btw Arky beat Auburn 38-14 while Auburn beat South Carolina and that was WITH Lattimore in the game. Look I can tell you're an SC fan but fact of the matter is you're gonna watch em get gangraped on SaturdayComment -

#34Arkansas is the better team, but I don't see them blowing out Carolina. Arkansas will be throwing the ball all game, and if Carolina continues to create turnovers like they have all season then they definitely have a shot.
As far as Garcia is concerned, the guy is a complete doucher and he should have been gone a long time ago. Shaw isn't that great but he makes better decisions and is a overall better fit.Comment
