I go to the "internet" (if you can call it that) on my phone and it has live pitch by pitch coverage of all the games. $5 a month for the unlimited internet access and of course it uses air time when you go online. So I mostly use it on the weekends and after 9pm. But I occasionally use my minutes for it too, I just cant stay there and continue hitting refresh every second to get every pitch when using minutes.
On the weekends my wife and I will go out to eat or something and if I have action on a game I keep my phone open and on auto refresh. Drives her crazy.

I used to use that bullshit, was alway slow and would crash a lot. I have no patience. Texting now works wonders.

It is slow sometimes and it does crash sometimes. You get the option of like 5 or so places to check the scores. I've found that the ESPN place is the best. It works great 95% of the time. When it doesnt work great I keep having to go offline and come back on. Verizon.

Poker is ok, not huge here, MGM, Caesars, Greektown, Motor City, all decent casinos. Being 20 minutes from them I should go there more often, don't go too much, I attended Odawa in Northern Michigan a few weeks back, they had a top notch poker set up. I placed my name on the waiting list, played some black jack whilst waiting, 20 minutes later, "Now on deck, Deuce, Deuce to the poker room. Deuce, your seat is now available."

Don't by a crappy phone that has a browser that will crash. MLB.com updates are fast and you can get basically every detail of the game. Can't do that in a text message.

ESPN is pretty good for scores for almost any sport as well. (like mlb.com, almost real-time.)
