I started a sandlot-style pickup game on Saturdays and it's been great. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get a bunch of people together. A lot of guys don't want to commit to the adult leagues, and this option works for 'em. Have to admit...I feel like a prostitute selling the leage though...really look forward to when it can run on its own and I don't have to physically text message everyone. Give it a go...sometimes we'll go double or nothing if there's not enough people and we just shorten the bases a bit. Also, if we can't secure a highschool baseball field, we have 4-5 bats that are a little small and they tend to keep most balls from sailing over available fields.
