This was worse than Buckner in terms of significance, but a more difficult play

The game was only tied in the 10th in Buckner's whiff - they probably lose anyway
Cruz makes one catch and they are World Champions - instead gives a half ass pathetic attempt

It might not have came down to Cruz in RF if Texas had a scouting report on David Freese. The guy LOVES THE BALL AWAY.....hardly ever see him pull the ball and especially off a guy throwing 98! If you keep pitching a good hitter away away away....chances are that he's going to put a good swing on one!

Not to mention the Rangers had a base open with 2 strikes on Berkman in the 10th and Feldman gave him a fat one to hit. Berkman has been a MONSTER (10 for 23 .435) all series....just try to get him to chase or walk him. Craig can hit but he's no Berkman and he K'd with men on in the inning before.

If he jumped tirades the wall, misplaced it. It woulda been inside the park homerun. He was at 3rd easily

yes he did. He thought he was about to hit the wall. Its called homefield advantage. If it wasn't for Nelson Cruz the Rangers would already be eliminated.

i was so happy when the Rangers intentioally walked Pujols! I would much rather have Berkman at the plate with the game on the line.

think you would crash into the wall and try to make a catch with the world series on the line. Was a bad play by Cruz bottom line course the guy isn't known for his defense. Has a strong arm bout it.

would've much rather seen the effort and him go balls to the wall and give up an inside the park home run. it's the effort that bothers me. world series in the air for you to grab and you don't give 100% because you're scared of a padded wall? c'mon now... it's evident that Cruz just doesn't want it that bad

I'm not saying Cruz's play was routine. I didn't see a lack of effort on Holliday's missed catch, it was just an error. Cruz, however, displayed a lack of effort in the single most important moment of his career and that is unforgivable

Haha ya I probably would've. But still it'd be better than what he did. Now he'll always be remembered as the guy who jogged back and pulled up short of the fence because he was scared or whatever the fukk he was thinking.

Plus, it wasn't like he stopped to play the ball off the wall to be safe. He still did a half ass jump and stumbled and allowed a triple. If you play the ball off the wall it's a double. So there's no way I'm buying the argument that he was trying to play it safe

The entire game was a mess, defense wise, for both teams. You cant just blame cruz here. The majority of the blame needs to go to coked up Ron Washington. It is mind-boggling that he did not have his outfield playing no doubles d there.

I happen to be a fan of the Seattle Mariners who have also never won a World Series. I seriously do not know what I would do if this happened to my home town team
