I just met the guy who plucked the game winning Freese homerun ball off of the grass at Paddy O's in downtown STL. He said he's already been offered 100k for it... He's hanging onto it, not sure if he'll sell it or donate to Hall of Fame.

Can you believe this pic from a Texas fan??? DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN!!! This is outstanding...

    An interesting factoid:

Home teams have won the last eight Game 7s in the World Series, a streak that started with the Cardinals beating Milwaukee in 1982.

    GO GIT EM CARDS!!!

pretty sure all the WS and playoff balls are marked for the game they are used in...its authentic, just not worth much unless the cards win tomorrow

i figuered it was worth a new mid size car like a civic or corolla. Sell it by 5pm tomorrow, it may lose its value.

That's the guy! I guess I misunderstood what he was saying though, we had like 10 guys berating him with questions, he just said he wasn't selling for 100k so I assumed that meant he was holding out for more, I guess though he meant he already donated it, not sure of the details.

                                Great thread.

He Instantly gave the ball back, and received a David Freese Autographed Bat and a baseball signed by all the players, and pictures with his friend and players from the Cardinals. The guy is a radiologist, and said he makes a decent living and didin't need cash for the ball, just wanted all that memorabilia.

                                Good attempt though.

I think he did what was right here. People are like that here very generous and some of the feel like it is an honor to be able to have the chance. I would have done it and the team did a very nice thing for him too. In fact I would put him in front row for tonight to go along with it.

Apparently it's worth a signed bat by David Freese some photos with the team and his Cubs fan buddy.

ngates don't be surprised if they do that tonight but we just didn't hear about it. I just know it is nuts here last night all they until at least 4 am. Tonight if the Cardinals do win the game it will be an all night with people going nuts and probably all weekend it will be a very busy city.
