The only way that game goes under is if it rains badly. I see 55-24 or somewhere around there. Houston could easily get to 60 themselves. I just hope the 2 favs cover tonight

I live in Houston and went to U of H, and this may be a tricky game. There is a cold front coming into town today and its expected to bring some rain with it. Expect U of H to try to put on a show to impress voters though since theirs only one other game. The only way I see Rice covering is if they score some early points which is possible against a something shaky Houston defense. I'm betting that U of H scores early and often though forcing Rice to throw the ball and turn it over.

That's their nationally televized "superbowl". They will try to score as many points as possible and their defense is not stellar. I can see a 59-28 type game.

true but houston is a pass heavy offense, and te total is so high a couple of flukey turnover scores in the rain wouldnt be enough...need good weather for it to fly over imo.

Houston thrives on Case Keenum and his ability to throw the ball downfield, thats why they score as much as they do, they are a predominately passing / big play team. In order to get OVER 71 combined points Houston is going to have to put up a good chunk of them by themselves, and if the weather is nasty in Houston it could stiffle the offense and the throwing game just enough to slow down the rate at which they score. Turnovers do happen in the rain, but I would be more concerned about the weather slowing down the offenses more than expecting turnovers to happen. If the weather stays clear I would say the OVER is the play, but if there is rain tonight, I would stay away.

I will wait until closer to game time on Houston-Rice, though it is doubtful that I play the game at all. Miami-Virginia is really a toss up because I have no idea whhich Miami team or which Virginia team will show up. The problem I see for Virginia is that they have not been on the road in their last 4 games. Miami seems to have hit their stride, but Harris is not the most dependable QB around.

IMO the smart bet here is to play the two favorites and tease them 7 pts. Right now the line is perfect.

Miami -6.5 and over 41.5 (just under 1 td and just under 6 td's)
Houston -20.5 and over 64 (just under 3 td's and just 1 pt over 9 td's).

It pays 2 to 1. This is all gambling but I can live with the odds here which are pretty good in favor of hitting.

tough card imo. might just completely pass. betting on tuesday wednesday thursday for the hell of it killed me last year, i have been better at laying off this season.

I took Houston last week against Marshall and I feel like it will be a similar game. Rice is going to put some points up due to Houston's shaky D. However, they will not match Houston's offense. It's almost a guarenteed score every single possession and fast. The only concern is that their defense won't get enough rest because of how fast Houston is moving up and down the field.
