OK, I know this question is retarded and can never be resolved but which sports person do you think has travelled on a plane the most times. I'm thinking NBA players fly the most because they travel to single games, MLB players fly to three/four game series. So I'm thinking NBA, someone who has been around forever as a player/coach and it came to me....Phil Jackson.
Really Stupid Question.

#2NASCAR drivers fly the most. When they don't race they fly to other tracks to test or do promotions. They have their own copters and jets. They also race on 10 months a year.Comment -

#4i think a few nba coaches have coached more games, but i can't think of another sport with more.
they play 41 road games, so how many flights? some are 2 flights for one game (ie there and back home), some not.
my golfer friend flies an insane number of times in a year, but surely not as much as nba/nhl.
mlb wont make it as 81 road games/3 per series is much less.Comment -

#5But I'm talking number of times. Theres no way a nascar driver could have flown more times than Phil Jackson. 100 times a year for 30 years.3000.Comment -

#6There are more than 40 races a year in NASCAR. Then they have the Saturday races which sometimes are at a different venue where they have to fly. I don't think Indy has that many races.Originally posted by Bet ShooterI would then say Indy races. Don't they go all over the world?Comment -

#9i don't see how nascar would cut it.
the other thing though is nba teams have their own planes that go direct where they are going without issue.
golfers are on their own -- if you are tiger, you have your own plane -- but for a lot of guys, it's buy a one way ticket fri. night (if you missed the cut) or sun night (if you make it) online with whatever you can get, and then airport, security, backage check, whatever bs. that's got to be a painComment -

#10Sorry, there and back. And if youre saying a nascar driver flies to 40 different races per year I can see it could be close. I think jacksons longevity would probably still make me vote for him.Comment -

#11Do the top nascar drivers race all 40 weeks?
There are more than 40 pga events a year, but the top players play about 20 (or 14 if you are tiger). The ones that play the most play 33 or so.Comment -

#12You have to add to the Sunday races the amount of flights they take off season or on weekdays to fly to other tracks for testing and flights they take to Busch Series or whatever is called now on Saturdays.Originally posted by englishmikeSorry, there and back. #16Yes they do. Sometime they race in the Nationwide, that sometimes takes place in another city.Originally posted by duritoDo the top nascar drivers race all 40 weeks?
I think it words of hassle, it would be the lower par golfers. Like you said, going through all that airport crap every weekend.Comment -

#25A year-round broadcaster would probably take 150-175 return flights per-year, 300-350 if you count both ways. Over 30 years that would be 4500 return flights.Comment
