This is a gift. Getting 32.5 points as a home team in a stadium packed with screaming mad Chinese. The US team will have the jitters and the crowd will be a factor. The Chinese play with pride in front of their fans.

Let's cash this babe next Saturday boys.

they not little though China has much bigger guys than the US. But their biggest problem will be just bringing the ball up the floor.

88 was a college team. They were not favored by 32.5. Get your facts together.

I never even said they played the US, they were bigger dogs than 32.5 to USSR and Yugoslavia.

I'm still in the middle of doing my team rankings, but USA has amazing team and China isn't very good, really. Still, home court can be a real factor for China and they might try to slow the game down.

US takes the game easily, the question is by how many points. I'm still undecided but China +32.5 might be worth few coins.

I think China will do well against most teams but the US backcourt pressure is a bad matchup for them specifically. They have as good a frontcourt as any team and the homecourt.

no, the Yugoslavia game was actually first, Yugoslavia was a bigger favorite than USSR, Yugoslavia actually beat USSR first game of the tourney, although USSR beat them in the championship match and won gold

You can't compare Korea with China. China has a few NBA players.

Although they did not play US would have been favored by 50 against Korea, they were favored in every game they played although they only won bronze.

Yeah, and very possible it still moves up a few points. I agree there was probably some value on USA at 28.5. Even though the limits are quite low, the sharpest guys have already beaten the heck out of the openers.

You also need to factor that is the first game and USA won't go full throttle. It's also rumored that the Chinese will turn off the A/C during the game and let the polluted air from the outside to wear out the NBA premadonnas.

I know China has home court, but I would think Lithuania and Turkey are both stronger teams, and USA blew them out no problem.

China lost to Lithuania by 20 points in '04.

Do not confuse warm up games with the actual Olympic games. Did Colts win any games last year? They were 0-4 in preseason.

The Chinese fans have huge expectations of the national team at the Beijing Olympics as it is the first time that NBA players Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian and former NBA player Wang Zhizhi join force at the Games.

China's NBA star Yao Ming looks for a pass during the game against Angola at the Stankovic Cup basketball Olympic warmup tournament in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Houston Rockets center Yao Ming is one of the most dominant pivots in NBA. He has recovered from a foot surgery, which needed four-month recovery and ended his season earlier, and joined in the national team last month.

"I want to have better results than the eighth place at the Beijing Olympic Games. I think the sixth is what I'm looking for," Yao said during a tele-conference to Asian and American journalists in May.

NBA rookie Yi Jianlian proved the most dangerous shotgun during a series of warm-up series, which China won 10-0.

He averaged 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in his rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks and was traded to New Jersey Nets on June27.

Former Miami Heat forward Wang Zhizhi is a quality backup pivot. This is his first Olympic after he was kicked out of the team in 2002 when he refused to answer the call for the World Championships.

"I do want better results this time (at the Beijing Olympics). But for now, I think to enter the quarterfinals is realistic," Li Yuanwei said. "World basketball has improved a lot in the past four years. It'll be more difficult to get into top eight than the Athens Olympics in 2004."
China has been practicing for months for the olympics. They have a Lithuanian coach who will know how to play the US Team. The US team will not cover the +33 points they are favored. This is ridiculous. The Chinese are not bad. US has noone to defend Yao. Big mistake of not taking Chandler on the team. Yao will torture Howard, Bosh and Boozer.
