SBRForum Line history not working?

For one quick example check this link and then try to view the moneyline history for the GB - St. Louis game.

We disabled the historical data last Thursday temporarily. Because of the performance issues we were experiencing with the site we had to upgrade the system. Those changes require us to recompile all our historical data. It will be back soon, takes awhile to recompile 5-6 years of data.

I think Spektre is actually talking about that page Whitey. The auto-linker to line history makes it look like hes talking about SBRodds which works fine for todays games. Spektre is looking for old line data.

Yes, that is the page I am refering to. Is ths the data that is being recompiled or is this malfunctioning for a different reason?

No this data is running off the old system there's no compiling it goes straight to the database. Not sure why those specific games are not working. We're still looking into what could be causing the issues with that page, i'll update you if we find out why those links are broken.

We were able to reproduce the problem you're seeing fairly easily, as you said its pretty common, however the fix isn't so easy. We're hoping that tomorrow or Wednesday the line histories for archives will be working on the new site you should be able to access everything from there. We're having more and more problems with the old system now, we're pretty close to having everything switched over.

Sorry it can be a little confusing.

There are two systems that import all the line changes. One that powers http://odds.sbrforum.com/ (old) and one that powers http://www.sbrforum.com/betting-odds/ (new). The system that powers the old site also has some pieces scattered around on sbrforum.com like the links you posted.

If you want to see line histories on the new site just go to http://www.sbrforum.com/betting-odds/ and click on the line you're interested in viewing. Once the archive is working there will be a calendar on the page that will let you go back to previous days back to Sept 2007. The archive could be ready as early as today or tomorrow.

Please feel free to try out the new line histories now. Let us know if you see the same problems. We're not completely done checking that all the files are there but looks pretty good so far. Calendar will come soon to make navigation easier but all the data should be there.

Hi Whitey,

I figured I would bump an old thread instead of starting a new one.

The Line histories seem to be working now for the most part, as do the historical scores, but I was wondering why so many scores were missing.

Taking a date for example on 11/19, there were 77 VCAA Div. I basketball games played. I only see reulsts for 33 of them. Do you only listed games that the books have handicapped? Is there somewhere else on the site to look at historical scores?
