Not really. Selig actually told the Cubs they have to finish this deal before November... so blame Selig if anyone.

But I sincerely doubt anyone cares if it is announced on an off day of the world series.

I doubt Rangers fans care, I doubt Cardinals fans care, I doubt the players care, and as I just stated, Selig demanded that the deal be finalized before November 1st.

Today is the 25 of October, the world series will end before novemer 1. It could wait.

The Cubs have until November 1st to come up with compensation. and NO Red Sox idiots, it will not be Starlin Castro or Matt Garza.

The Cubs have no pressure here... it is said Bud Selig will decide compensation if the Cubs/Red Sox can't come to terms, and Selig has already stated that no MLB prospects should be exchanged in a deal like this.

So the Cubs should just wait for Selig to decide. It'll be some low level type prospects if it is up to him.
