Sometimes guys just need a break. Dan has fun moderating and does a very good job behind the scenes. Mods have a lot of side work that posters do not see with all the contests, fraud prevention and sportsbook grading tasks just to name a few. I'm sure Dan will enjoy his break and be back somewhere down the road.

Do you need more than elementary school education to perform these tasks? You make it sound like these mods do 4 tasks at a time and it's a really big deal. How did we ever manage to send a man on the moon and bring him back safely?

Now tell me again what qualifications and education is required to perform fraud prevention at a forum with points as currency. Graduate from FBI academy magna *** laude? And how about sportsbook grading. Can a trained chimpanzee learn how to grade plays as win or lose by pressing the WIN button on the screen and the LOSE button on the screen once the game is over?

Having owned a busy forum I can tell you it's difficult to find or hold onto anyone who is smart enough to read the logs and work out what's going on and be trusted not to miss stuff.

Without all the crazies and other stuff here to deal with.

No one's saying you need to be a brain surgeon to do anything here. Nor do they to do the jobs that 99.9999999999999999999999% of posters do, save for actual brain surgeons. Have a semi functioning brain, have the funding to attend school and be disciplined to stick with it long enough and you can become a lawyer, doctor or.... wait for it: An engineer.

Yeah I know it's the forum thing to do to bash Mods... but it kind of gets tiresome when you see how many PT guys secretly enquire about becoming one. Anyway, carry on... off to go hit that WIN button somewhere.

And yeah, that's the other part of it. Being a mod isn't Bill Gates type stuff but it's a little more involved than just giving out a random infraction and killing off a spammer.

Then again, I didn't realise it before I started to work here and was entrusted with more stuff so I get where the laughs come from. It's definitely not the same forum as it was when it first opened and it isn't from even a year ago. And I am proud to be a part of it in my own little way. Fun to see all of the improvements and watch SBR grow from a different perspective

I could say what I do in my job and the things it requires but it won't necessarily apply to my colleagues. And vice versa. None of the people you see on the forum perform the same role. That's the best I can do.
