    where to start???
Hey! New to the forums. I want to get into sportsbetting for the fun and the investment (going for the long haul not trying to make a quick buck).

I've always heard college FB and BB is the way to go. What is the "less hardest" pro sport to handicap? NHL? I keep hearing NFL and NBA is impossible and MLB I have no idea. I don't really want to do much analysis myself so I signed up at Docs sports (Good idea?) and intend on following good consistent posters here. Focusing on college sports and only betting pro sports on "BIG" unit plays is what I am aiming for.

I'm a succesful poker player who understands variance btw. So I'll probably be a dime better once I get comfortable. Any input is appreciated!

Just bet the sports you know best. No point in trying to beat the books AND learn the intricacies of betting each individual sport.

I bet hockey, college football, college hoops and soccer aggressively. I bet NFL and MLB moderately and don't really touch NBA

I think that College Football is the easiest to handicap on a week to week basis followed by college hoops.

Do yourself a favor and don't pay for any services or shit like that. Just find some capppers here and follow or read. You'll get the hang of it eventually, especially since you know bankroll management being a poker player.

Ya I guess since I'm new the idea of paying a few hundred for "pro" guidance is very enticing. Especially if I bet $500/unit. Just seems more convenient and less time consuming then going around the forums for hours every week.

First thing, understand value of a line. You might have a choice between 3 and 3.5 in the NFL as the odds change. Getting the half point working against you some of the time is the difference between winning and losing % in a month.

Stay away from the NHL unless you are a "grinder". Football is the game for big unit bettors.

Yes when I was 19 I stumbled upon a sports betting forum and started betting small on some bogus MLB system. Lost a couple hundreds and never went back to betting. I concentrated fully on poker instead and 4 years later I've made 7 figures (no big tourney scores just cash games).

Just looking to diversify my "gambling investments" and ask u guys for some input as to how bad/good of an idea this is

                    use 10-20% from bankroll,
                    is your bankroll $1000
                    then use $100 - $200 per bet

or use your own bankroll management
