Because ND isn't the cool, hip place to be right now. It's history means nothing to anyone under the age of 25.

LSU, Stanford, Oregon etc. are only two shitty seasons away from being a middle of the pack Neb., Michigan or Florida St. type of team.

I'll go back a few years, but when bama gets 7 or 8, lsu, osu, and florida get 6 or 7, USC, fsu, the U, get 5 or 6, and Texas and Oklahoma get 4 or 5, that leaves the other schools to pick over the rest.

Proof? Have a few of them been mounting you? Don't make these types of statements unless you can provide proof. If I say the people in Seattle are wetter than everyone else, would you believe me or would you want proof?

Notre Dame has IQ athletes , LSU has EQ athletes. EQ beats IQ

it runs in cycles. LSU sucked hind tit in the 90s while TN and Florida were kicking ass. Notre Dame was great under Holtz.
                      LSU 1990 5-6, '91 5-6, '92 2-9, '93 5-6, '94 4-7, '95 - '97 had winning seasons, then '98 4-7, '99 3-8.
                      ND 1990 '9-3, '91 10-3, '92 10-1-1, '93 11-1, '94 6-5-1, ''95 9-3, '96 8-3, '97 7-6, '98 9-3 now finally starting to get over the Davy years

The power will shift again. It wasn't that long ago when Bama sucked too. Just a couple of years ago they got beat by Louisiana Monroe at home. All it takes is losing a coach and also other teams improving or one coach (like Fulmer) letting his program slip. . One coach (Callahan)basically destroyed a Nebraska power and they have slowly tried to rebuild. Why were they so good, hell it's not warm there. They won national championships too. Florida was average at best before Spurrier got there and it's warm there & they had the same type athletes in the 80s as they do now. Miami had more of them. Alot of factors go into play. Enjoy it while you got it because it won't last forever.

2008, 74 of the top 150 went to the U, bama, lsu, osu, fsu, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, USC,

                        2009, 69 of the top 150

                        2010, 81 of the top 150

                        2011, 65 of the top 150

If you add the Georgia bulldogs to the nicety nine the numbers would be, 80, 75, 89, and 71. Even if notre dame gets 5 or 6 of the rest of what is left they still can't compete with the teams that get the true pick of the litter. Plus if notre dame offers a backup a scholly that player goes from 1 star to 5 star

                          Good stuff here..

As mentioned - Notre Dame has the toughest of Academic Standards. Stanford is probably the better school, but I have heard even they cut their athletes more of a break than Notre Dame...Everyone gets A's at Stanford anyway. Google Stanford and grade inflation.

Even so, let's not act like Stanford is a perennial power. They have a great QB...Notre Dame needs a great QB to compete at the top as well. They don't have one right now.

Screaming Brian Kelley is good for turning pretty good athletes into over achievers, but a championship coach he is not. He simply does not have the pedigree of a national championship Coach.

Lastly, Touchdown Jesus is not happy with ND right now. No more luck for the Irish.
