I think for me it's a very likable acquired taste.Maybe when a person is younger it's not when you have different tastes.By looking at the expressions of drinkers though, you can see many who don't like the taste of any alcohol but still drink. It's funny seeing a guy that doesn't like the taste conceal the grimace on his face as to not being perceived as a wussy.

Ever watch the old westerns where no one seemed to like the taste of red eye rot gut whiskey that was harsh and warm without ice?A guy spent as much in a bar than he would have buying a few acres of land in a night.Crazy!

So is it a case where the colder and more expensive the beer, the better the taste and less chance of getting the green death the next day.

Best pure and clean beers,Rolling Rock and Heineken?

    Worst,Steel Reserve?

Anyone trust drinking Mexican beer with all the pepper poisoning and all the bacteria bugs down there?I like it but it's probably not a risk worth taking.Funny the sales of Mexican beer aren't in the toilet.

My first beer as a teenager made me gag hard. I forced it down my throat. It was like that the first couple times. But I knew alcoholism ran rampant in my family so I was a trooper and did what I had to do to keep the family torch going.

Now, after a long day, nothing tastes better than an ice cold beer.

      Acquired taste. For me anyways.

Like most people I couldn’t stand the taste growing up. I’d try one like every year from when I was 10 through 16 and never liked it. Eventually at 16(later than most I know) I actually started drinking for fun and had to suck it up and drink it anyways. But after a year of drinking a decent amount, I could put up with it pretty well. A year after that, when I was about 18, it finally switched to the point where I actually really liked it. Now if I’m having a nice meal, it’s not completely without a nice cold beer.

Like what you said....keep up the family tradition. I'd rather have a beer than a coke

Isn't just about everything an 'acquired taste?'

i dont know what people see in beer. i find it the most disgusting taste ever. beer is good if you are thirsty and have 1 cold beer. after that, it's gross. it's bitter, and has no taste.. it's like piss.. beer is overrated.. people only drink it becuase they are either addicted to alcohol, or to get drunk.. not because they love the taste.

if they love taste of drink, drink pepsi, or chocolate milk, or lemonade.. but not beer. you know all these teenagers today in parties that drink 20 beers, only do it to get drunk and not for the taste. If beer didn't make teenagers drunk, there would be no beers at frat parties and other parties for teenagers.

                it's gross.

Speak for yourself, Nicky. I, for one, love the taste of a good ale or lager.

i am only talking about the people that sit down and drink 20 beers in one sit down. i know people like this.. 1 or 2 beers is great, especially on the balcony on a nice hot summer day.. when i was in DR, i had about 7 beers a day, it was great. especially with your meal.. i loved it..

but when someone sits there and drinks 20 beers.. that is over doing it.. it's overkill. they do it only to get drunk, or because they are addicted. how can anyone drink 23 beers and say it tastes good.. yuck..
