    Question For Dan The man.
Dan: Just for fun, if you had to project the next five years of gambling in the US where do you see it headed. If you had to guess, in your experience, what would a realistic upside be and what would a realistic doomsday scenario be. Just wondered.

There is no upside IMO sir, it's only going to get worse now that the port act bill passed back on [iSBRFORUM]October 13, 2006[/iSBRFORUM]. I feel once the government figures out how to stop gaming transaction they will go after web portals. I guess the only chance we as players have is if we can get enough lobbies on our side to support our cause, but I don't think it's a realistic hope at all.

So a doomsday scenario would be locals, Vegas and Caliente?

Basically it would all just revert back to the way it once was IMO.

Not a problem sir. However, who's to say I'm right about this one. I mean once Obama gets elected, everything might revert ASAP.

As an outsider looking in and someone who knows 99% less than you do, i do find it odd that, in a country that tolerates Vegas and Casinos in every state, politicians haven't sat in a smoky room somewhere and done the math onthe tax angle. The Bodog article I posted stated Bodog was handling 7.3Billion yearly in 2006....7.3 BILLION! That's one online book. Trying to guess the amount wagered offshore is futile because it's impossible, but for the purposes of our thread, if Bodog was handling 7.3B, 100 Billion annualy is not out of the question. 10% of 100B is 10B. If I can work it out surely sooner or later they will.
