How dumb are Raiders in trading for Carson Palmer
Giving up first round pick and second round pick for the scrub QB who is past his prime.

Seriously, they could have drafted some solid QB's next year.

Now they have no picks left next year...1st to 5th round picks are gone.

Could have traded a 4th round pick for him as a fair deal IMO......Instead traded atleast a 1st and 2nd, possibly 2 1st's........ridiculous trade

Would be a good trade for Carson Palmer at 27 years old IN HIS PRIME......Dude's been shit ever since that nasty injury and he's pushing 35 years old

Two 1st round picks is a complete joke.......horrible, desperation move by the Raiders

We'll never know how good or bad this trade will be until we see how well or badly Carson plays. If he doesn't fk it up like Jason didn't, and continue to win, the Raiders can continue business as usual.

palmer is 31 and they only give up 2 picks if they win a playoff game this year

Not sure how anyone can give up anything more than a 4th or 5th rounder for carson. Terrible trade. Before his knee and arm injuries he was elite, since then he has been one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league.

                    They overpaid.

The Raiders overestimated. Campbell helped with his legs (how he went down). Palmer can't do that. And it's necessary. They don't need a Palmer. They need a Dilfer type (who is a little more mobile). Someone who is smart enough to know what he can and cannot do and just not turn the ball over, Campbell was actually performing that task rather well for them.

Raiders are the best field position team out there. A punter who can pin you inside the 20 from his own 40 and a kicker who can nail a 50 yarder at a higher % than anyone else out there. Essentially, their punter lengthens the field for the opponent and their FG kicker shortens the field for them.

It's built on one thing . . DON'T FRICKIN TURN THE BALL OVER!!!!!!!!

Palmer may well be a good pickup for them, but they WAY overpaid for him.

What I don't get here is the fact that Mike Brown caved in and traded him after he said he wouldn't. Personally, I think Cincy got the better end of the deal based on the fact of the "something for nothing" factor that surrounded this entire saga.

raiders had no choice really they have no qb and the team is in contention..they clearly overpaid but what other viable option did they have?..it was either this or become the miami dolphins for the rest of the year.
