    Really though Hue Jackson?
Carson Palmer lands with the Raiders, Hue Jackson celebrates: “Probably the greatest trade in football”
POSTED BY TIM KAWAKAMI ON OCTOBER 18TH, 2011 AT 6:02 PM | CATEGORIZED AS NFL, RAIDERS

Carson Palmer and Hue Jackson walked quickly onto the stage, and, as expected, Jackson was the star of the show.

He’s a natural. He talked about sleep-deprivation, which is understandable given the events of the last two weeks, but Jackson nevertheless offered a broad combination of intriguing statements.

Greatest trade in football? Ever? Really? I’d think Al Davis would nominate a few others, made by Al Davis, and maybe there are a few others–like the stash Dallas recouped when it traded Herschel Walker or the 49ers giving up a couple of picks for Steve Young or the Rams’ deal for Marshall Faulk.

But oh well. It’s natural to feel good about a monster trade like this and to react with vast overstatements when it’s attacked for being too costly.

He's right, this may very well be the greatest trade in football for the Bengals.

obviously Al wasnt the problem with the Raiders, some other retard in making the decisions. Poor old guy got bashed for stupid shit like this all the time, probably wasnt him at all. But then again I suppose some people could still blame him and claim it was in his will or something.

Great trade for Cinci,.terrible move by Oak...Considering Raiders are only 4-2 to start the season..and we are JUST NOW getting about halfway through..bad move...Giving up 1st rounder...and another 1st rounder or 2nd rounder next draft...WOW...terrible choice....
Palmer is 31..injury prone, and hasn't really been effective as of yet so how would being on a new team change things... Who's to say he doesn't get hurt within 2-3 games, what are the Raiders to do then??? I think some of the big shots in the organization are putting too much emphasis on just THIS season..

Anyone know the chances of Palmer starting on Sunday? I got Darius Hayward Bay on my fantasy team. Definitely not starting him if Boller starts. Still hesitant to start him if Palmer is starting just because they will have zero chemistry. Thoughts?

Man my week 7 is looking ugly. I usually start Nicks and Stevie Johnson at WR, but both are on bye (yeah I didn't keep in mind byes when drafting, kinda random that all my guys happened to have wk 7 byes.). So i'm doing a lot of work on the waiver wire today. I already got DHB on my bench. I'm in the works of picking up Greg Little and Steve Breaston.

                            I need 2 WR's out of those 3.

                            Little vs SEA
                            DHB vs KC
                            Breaston @ OAK

I really like Little now that he is the man in Cleveland. Kind of leaning towards Breaston just because he is the #2 guy in what is now a passing offense. Not sure if I can trust Palmer on just half a week of practice. The rust has to be a major issue. The guy probably hasn't thrown a football in 10 months and now they expect him to step in and run a new offense?
