A lot of early injuries to big scorers, and I've noticed a lot of young players getting starts this year so far. Two factors that likely keep scoring lower than usual.

Also, defensive synergy easier to get down early in the year compared to offensive. If you go back, I think you'll see a lot of under-heavy first 1/6's of the season.
