Northwestern nearly knocked off a then-undefeated Illinois team in Champaign and followed that with a blown 10 point lead to lose to a really good Michigan team. Since Dan Persa has come back the offense has looked really good and I think that this is the week the Wildcats put it all together. Like I said, PSU's defense is stout, but Northwestern has the weapons to give them some problems and move the ball down the field. No one is better at betting Penn State games on this site than me. Trust me on this one fellas.

Laying 11 on the road in a rivalry game where the line has already dropped at least a point despite heavy public action the other way will never be a sharp pick -- ever.

Have you ever heard of a trap game? This isn't a trap game, because PSU knows that a road game against Northwestern is a game they will need to show up for to win.

Trust me man, PSU couldn't get PSU to take Indiana seriously. Northwestern, while a bad team, will be taken seriously. Hell, all PSU coaches have to do is show them the 21-0 score they had last year.

But still, I can't believe anyone has confidence in this Northwestern team when they allowed 35 unanswered to PSU last year, and PSU is a tiny bit better this year than last year, and Northwestern is a tiny bit worse than last year.

PSU's ground attack shredded NW last year, and PSU's offensive line is much better this year. That is a scary thought for NW backers.

No, that is not my logic at all. PSU is superior to Iowa, and Iowa is superior to Northwestern. That was obvious from WATCHING the games.

There is doubt in the PSU offense, and I understand why, but they'll be facing a putrid NW defense that allowed 41 to Iowa, the same Iowa team PSU's defense held to 3.

I figure they'd want to take advice from a winning player. But they can jump on Northwestern if they like... Northwestern hasn't beaten Penn State since 2004, the year PSU went 4-7... There is a reason for that.

my read on the game was that penn st though with a good defense is still very suspect..they dont score much and they seem to squeak by bad teams, never covering on the road...granted 4 isnt a lot of pts but i see northwestern scoring pts at home and really putting the pressure on the penn st offense to produce..seems like a good spot for an upset with the home dog.

Probably repeating myself, but I think only getting +155 on a team whose best win is against 1-5 BC and has lost to Army is a really bad bet.

You should be getting +300 to take NW here.
