I created a thread a while back trying to figure out why your government won't let you bet online and got some pretty funny answers. Here's a couple of my favorites.

in america we have something you might not know much about, and that is called "freedom"

we have freedom because of the founding fathers and paul revere and the constitution and christian values and things like that

so you may simply just not understand our way of life and our values

in our country politicians such as sarah palin and bill frist and john kyl and dick cheney protect our freedoms, and that is why we do not allow online gambling in the us except for horse racing and other things like lottery that are american for joe six pack

We all know it is much safer to allow granny after granny to spend her social security check on things like the "Daily Number", and she is perfectly welcome to take her money and bus off to the nearest casino and drop 500 bucks every Sunday.

But we Americans---we don't want sports gambling or internet poker because--well, we need to protect America. True Patriots like Palin, Jon Kyl, Rick Santorum----we need to trust them---nevermind the fact that they are walking morons, and forget the fact that one of them named their kids after the location of g'damn ESPN's headquarters------focus on how they protect us from ourselves.
