I know some places make you have tons of info like the bank # and bank address blah blah blah. How is it that they can do it with just the account # and swift?

The SWIFT code provides the information required to get the funds to your banks main branch.

Wire transfers are done manually so the bank employees can see by the account numbers provided where the funds are to go.

Your name is also included in a wire transfer along with acct number and swift.
