Moneyline thinks so. I'm not so sure.
Are you better than everyone else if you have a college degree?

#6Durito, everyone except Bread and Robyn ... please tell them 2 high school diplomas don't equal one college degree ...
(Robyn thought it would be too much money and Bread, well, he's Bread -- both of them do know how to work a computer, though ... that's how those crazy kids met ... MySpace for adults)

If you want to see Moneyline's exact meaning to the quote, check out the God thread.
Basically, if you are not world traveled (seriously) or collegiate degreed, you are lesser.
I love Moneyline.Comment -

#10Bread, don't get too upset. There are many people who have bettered themselves without obtaining a degree of higher learning (although most have obtained this in today's day and age) or without seeing at least part of the world (although living in America has afforded most the opportunity to experience other cultures) ...
(it's just you and Robyn haven't bettered yourselves in any way ... that is a pity)
-- Panic, slumming isn't necessarily a bad thing ... especially when one is surrounded by educated, well-traveled people in day to day life ... cal this a guilty pleasure, like watching Jerry Springer on occasion ... Bread and Robyn are like those 2nd cousins you don't believe really exist, although they actually doComment -

#13I'm just impressed Robyn and Bread can afford two computers ...
(although one of them is a hand-me-down from nana)
I actually have Bread starting new threads, as a way of muttering to himself. And it takes both he and Robyn to try and hold one 'conversation' with me. You two are tres cute.Comment -

#20I believe receiving an education is a cornerstone to bettering oneself. And seeing the world on a grass roots level is a furtherance of that education. There are many other ways to do so, physically, spriritually and emotionally, but without a foundation, it's rather hard to build a solid house.
(which is why a slight wind would blow the cyber-relationship Bread and Robyn have built over the past 3 years over in a heartbeat)Comment -

There are some people that haven't gone to college that are very bright. Maybe they would have benefited from it, but it was just something out of reach. However, their own natural intelligence and curiosity continued to allow them to learn and grow. Some individuals may not benefit from a brick and mortar education, but they are still very bright and their lack of formal education does not negate their intelligence.Comment -

#27"It is the wheels on my short bus of life"
If you truly believed that about your life, you'd take the time to find better wheels.
Teela -- those who have only a high school education and have traveled nowhere usually have intelligence like an unused muscle ... development is certainly possible, but without some work on a person's part, it is nothing but flab ...
Focker -- I know I am nothing ... that's why I believe in the Lord ... I am infintesimal ... He is everything ...Comment -

#34Well I will give the definition society puts on having a degree... A degree = a better chance of finding a sustainable job as a white collar type of employee...
If that is the definition we are going by then yes it is true to some degree but it DOES NOT mean you are smart or smarter then one who does not have a degree... The definition SHOULD relate to gaining knowledge... If that were the case a degree would be MUCH less meaningful in todays age... I have watched physics classes from Berkley as if I was in class with them... I get about the same knowledge from that session as everyone else....
Having two computers doesn't mean a damn thing... You guys (MONEYLINE) are simply "Dick Wavin'.." What do you do each day to better yourself assuming money does not exist...? Did you learn anything to better your perspective..? Did you do what is needed to keep good health..?
After all... Wealth = Health and Intelligence... NOT A DEGREE... If you have a college degree and you think money is more important then you should ask for a refund...
