Question is what round is the draft pick. Anything higher than a 7th round draft pick for old derrick mason is too much.

Jets trade derrick mason to texans for undisclosed draft pick

The New York Jets have reached an agreement in principle to trade wide receiver Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice, a league source told NFL Network.
Mason was benched by Jets coach Rex Ryan for the first half of Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, according to ESPN New York. Mason played sparingly in the game. A report surfaced that Mason, along with fellow receivers Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress had individually met with Ryan to voice displeasure with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer's system. The Jets released a statement to say it wasn't true.
Mason started two of five games this season for the Jets, catching 13 passes for 115 yards and no touchdowns.
The Texans' leading receiver Andre Johnson is out for an undisclosed amount of time with a hamstring injury.

Pretty much a non deal, looks like he's done honestly. Probably good for 2-3 catches a game.

Andre Johnson was talking about playing earlier in the week. If he is officially out, this could be why.

He's not playing. He'll probably sit out against Ten as well. Of course anything can happen but this has what's been said.

Houston could use him. Especially if AJ is out for this week too. Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter aren't good enough to get it done on their own. W/o AJ, all they have is Arian Foster and Owen Daniels. Lets not forget that Derek Mason had a pretty solid year last year on Baltimore. I think he put up similar numbers to Boldin last year in Baltimore.

Id love to see them get Randy Moss. Another old, way past his prime athelete - and a cancer. With or without him, Jets are not a playoff team.

How can someone actually be a fan of them?

2 years ago they make the playoffs because two teams lay down for them - and they win 2 games. They werent even close to the top 2 teams in the AFC. But you have to listen to Rex Ryan.

Last year, they were a phantom call, and a player just taking a knee from missing the playoffs (among a few other LUCKY wins) - but you have to listen to Rex Ryan.

This year - didnt he say they were going to win the super bowl again?

How about they win something - and until then he shuts up.

If your a true fan meaning fanatic you can't be an ex fan no matter what your team does so you couldnt of been a fan doesn't make sense. Plus last two yrs have been some of the best Jets yrs in awhile ad they were one game away no many other teams can say that...

Most fanatics are very disillusioned.

Yes they had a few good games in the play offs, but neither year did they honestly deserve to be there. Two years ago, they needed two teams to lay down for them and some help to get it. Last year about 4 very lucky wins.

Be a fanatic, but also be realistic.

The Jets are nothing but over hype.
