Are you New Jersey people going to vote to make Sports Betting Legal??

In November New Jersey might pass the bill to make Sports Gambling legal. It would then go to the supreme court most likely. Are there commercials for this bill or anything? Is it getting hype like the weed bill in Cali!

Would like to see some SBR degens at the local old folks home rallying to get this bill passed! "It'll help your grandkids, Ethel! They won't have to deal with Joe on the corner anymore!"

I doubt this will get through the NFL, NBA, MLB, an NCAAB, NCCAF will all lobby hard , to get this to fail. And their efforts will ultimately win out.

Everyone would love it. It would be awesome!
They would take in more money than the Vegas sportsbooks, most likely. It would be wild! And it might help push towards legalizing this shiz nationwide.

Who are they going to lobby, the supreme court? If this bill passes from what I understand the only thing that stops the legalization is the supreme court saying, "Sorry New Jersey, I know we allow sports betting in some states, but we won't allow it in your state." That is not going to happen.

                  About the Delaware ruling:
How the ruling will affect other states is still unknown. New Jersey State Senator Ray Lesniak filed a suit against the United States Justice Department in 2009 seeking to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act on the basis that it discriminated against the other states and is therefore unconstitutional. The lawsuit has yet to be heard.

From what I can understand the Delaware case was in regards to changing their sports betting procedures that were grandfathered in. The New Jersey case is a bit different because they don't have any type of sports betting grandfathered in. If the supreme court were to hear New Jersey's case the outcome may be different if the issue of states rights is discussed.

Of course its going to happen. Wouldn't surprise me if the NBA, and other major sports league tries to push new regulations against states who have state wide gambling. The four major sports league was a big reason why this failed the last time they tried.

From looking into it more I think you're right. So crazy. That one state can have one set of laws that the people want and another state wants those same set of laws and votes to have those laws, but is not allowed by the government. Seems like people should be flipping out! That doesn't seem very constitutional. Seems like I always hear the purpose of the supreme court is to protect the constitution. The next step is for New Jersey to secede from the union!

You're insane. Nothing is better than placing a bet, winning the bet, then getting your cash whenever the hell you want 24 hours a day 7 days a week. No names, no addresses, no record, just straight cash (unless you are betting or cashing out more than $10,000)
