Where are the smart people in this process? The players certainly not. By sticking with their 53-47 revenue sharing idea, they'll lose all the money they would have gained by going 50-50, in the first four weeks of the regular season.

The owners have lots of time to make up the money, the players not so much.

there is a thing called sunk costs, which owners incur if the season goes forward or not, yes some may lose money running an nba team, but their loses will be greater if there is a delayed or canceled season

NFL + NCAAF + NHL = good enough for now. Two weeks is maybe 6-8 games per team. A shortened season is not a huge deal. It's the full season cancellation that would be tragic.
