had this conversation today, and all agreed, not much risk inside of 50 anymore.

making the goal post narrower would help, thus increasing the margin for error.

Isnt that amazing? Everytime a college kid lines up for a 30+ yarder its almost a guranteed shank. The difference between college and NFL kickers is unreal.

Don't they change the balls out for kicking plays? Don't know how long they've done that but I can't imagine they always have. Plus field conditions seem they're a lot more consistent.
Game evolves...that's why you can't directly compare eras.

BC's kicker sucks. Total choke artist. He missed a 20 yardFG attempt (basically a PAT) with 30 seconds to play against Duke a couple weeks ago that cost them the game. HILARIOUS. That's the type of shit Duke does. I think Duke's kicker (an "all-american") missed two FG attempts in the final 4-5 minutes in a 2-3 point loss to Richmond the week before that.
Sometimes I wonder if the pro ball is just easier to aim.
No more of that talk, or I'll put the leeches on you.

I'm sure some of it has to do with field conditions, but not all...

They should change the number of points a FG is worth: 1 pt for every 10 yards.
Can u imagine the number of kickers and soccer players taken in the draft???
Just kidding, obviously.
Janikowski is still available in my fantSy league. I should pick him up.

Not only that, barely got to see any running of the ball after kickoff. They're launching them 80 yrds for touchbacks almost every time.

Like it was said earlier, I think better and more consistent field conditions plays a part in it.

yeah they NFL should change the rules again. make the posts more narrow, but let the kickers kick without having to deal with a rush. wouldn't want anyone getting hurt
