What is the pennant is baseball?

AL or NL championship?
or MLB championship?

Was Watching the Movie angels in the outfield for the first time in 10 years. The whole plot of the movie was this kid prayed if the Angels won the pennant he and his father would become a family again. At the end of the movie the Angels won the division title. I always thought the pennant was the AL or NL championship.

Pennant is when the team wins the League (AL or NL)....therefore, going to the World Series.
